OREGON DOC INMATE ACCIDENTALLY RELEASED FROM MULTNOMAH COUNTY JAIL

Inmate Stephen Jamaal Reed was accidentally released from a Multnomah County jail on Monday, July 23. Reed is an Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) inmate housed at Oregon State Penitentiary, but was being temporarily held since Friday, July 20, at a Multnomah County jail to appear in court for pending charges. An anonymous caller informed DOC officials early Wednesday morning that Reed had been released.
Inmate Reed is African American, 6'2" tall, 225 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He is 22 years old. Reed entered DOC custody on May 2, 2012, on one count of possession of cocaine and one count of delivering heroin out of Multnomah County. His earliest release date is June 8, 2013.
