Deer Ridge Correctional Institution returns to normal operations
Deer Ridge Correctional Institution has returned to normal operations after a planned power outage at its minimum facility Tuesday and Wednesday to repair damaged power lines. Power was restored Wednesday afternoon.
Recent electrical issues prompted Department of Corrections and contract staff to assess the electrical system. Last week, staff discovered two emergency power cables and conduit that were damaged during original construction of the minimum facility. Working with DOC staff, contractors Aspen Ridge Electric and Kirby Nagelhout Construction successfully replaced the damaged power cables and conduit.
Work was completed Wednesday. No further work on the electrical system is anticipated.
