News Release from: Oregon Dept. of Corrections INMATE WALKS AWAY FROM WORK CREW, ARRESTED MINUTES LATER

Today at approximately 11:45 a.m., inmate Steven Corbett walked away from an Oregon Department of Corrections work crew at DOC's main administration building in Salem. A citizen spotted the inmate and immediately called the Salem Police Department. Officers located and arrested Corbett at approximately 12:30 p.m.
Corbett is an inmate at Santiam Correctional Institution (SCI) in Salem. Correctional Officers from SCI transport a work crew to DOC's administration building daily. Inmates on the crew perform maintenance, janitorial and other duties as assigned.
Corbett entered DOC custody on April 5, 2012, on two counts of Possession of Meth, one count of Theft I, and one count of Identity Theft out of Marion County. His earliest release date is July 12, 2013. Officers from the Salem Police Department transported Corbett to the Marion County Jail.
