Coffee Creek Correctional Facility wins 2012 Public Health Recognition Award
Award recipients
On Thursday, April 5, 2012 Coffee Creek Correctional Facility (CCCF), along with Community Action Early Head Start was awarded the 2012 Public Health Recognition Award, presented by Washington County Department of Health and Human Services as part of the National Public Health Week celebration.
 
Cally Wolery, Nurse Manager at CCCF, Becky Wiggins, Executive Support at CCCF and Sharon Bolmeier, Program Director from Washington County Community Action Head Start accepted the award. CCCF and Early Head Start staff was nominated for partnering together to find innovative ways to improve the health of pregnant inmates during their incarceration. Staff recognized the importance of promoting the health of pregnant inmates and their newborns by developing pre and post natal support classes/groups and establishing a breast feeding program allowing the mother to pump and store breast milk for their baby.
