ORS 285C.255: These would have sunset June 30, 2013: – Last date to designate EZ; – Last date for a business to obtain approval for EZ exemption; – Existing EZs terminated.
These
sunsets would have meant gradual expiration of previously approved
exemptions as they ran out the 3- to 5-year exemption period and no new
businesses would have entered the program after June 30, 2013.

ORS 285C.255: Sunset extended from June 30, 2013 to June 30, 2025: – Last date to designate EZ; – Last date for a business to obtain approval for EZ exemption; – Existing EZs terminated.
Changes allow the program to add new EZs and new approved businesses for another 12 years.

ORS 285C.406: Extends sunset date for certifying a firm for long-term rural EZ exemption, from June 30, 2013 to June 30, 2025.
Note:
HB 3672, section 6, extends this sunset date to June 30, 2025, as well.
In addition, HB 3672 extends the sunset on certification of a firm for
purposes of the long-term rural EZ income tax credit, to June 30, 2018.
