  • Fire Certification Section aligns Oregon standards to NFPA
    DPSST Administration Building
    DPSST's Fire Certification Section is responsible for maintaining state fire certification standards set by the Fire Policy Committee and Board on Public Safety Standards and Training, in alignment with National Fire Protection Association standards. This section of DPSST provides formal recognition to members of the Oregon fire service who voluntarily demonstrate required levels of competency. The Fire Certification Section also works, through a network of district liaison officers, to ensure Oregon's local fire department and district training programs meet accreditation requirements.

Information Records Inquiry Systems                                        
The Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training provides access to constituent records through the DPSST Information Records Inquiry System (IRIS). Data contained is updated nightly and is intended to assist DPSST constituents and members of the public by providing 24/7 access to commonly requested information.
 
 
Fire Certification Fingerprinting/Fieldprint Options and Information
  • Fingerprinting OptionsIndividuals applying for DPSST fire service certification after December 29, 2014 who have never been fingerprinted for certification purposes or who are identified in the Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS) as having out of state criminal history will be required to submit fingerprints to DPSST.  All fingerprints are processed through Oregon State Police (OSP) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
