What is an Executive Manager and under what circumstances do we need one?

Private Security Executive Managers are responsible for ensuring compliance of all private security providers employed by businesses or entities by which the executive manager is employed or contracted. An Executive Manager is authorized to perform the duties defined in OAR 259-060-0010.

Each business, employer or entity with private security professional staff of at least one person must designate an individual to perform the duties of an executive manager as described in these rules. This provision applies to any business, employer or entity that provides Private Security services within this tate, regardless of whether the business, employer or entity is located in or out of this state.

How do I apply to become an Executve Manager?

Application packets for adding certification or licensure must be completed in its entirety and must include:
1. A completed Form PS-1;
3. If currently employed, an original, completed Form PS-20;and
4. Nonrefundable certification or licensure fee as prescribed by OAR 259-060-500.
5. A completed Form PS-27 (Private Security Professional Code of Ethics) affirming moral fitness and professional standards.

How long after I submit my paperwork, will I receive my Executive Managers card?

It depends on a number of things such as the fingerprint scanning results and FBI background check. Generally it takes about 1-2 months.

How do I add a new certification to my current certification?

Application packet for adding certification or licensure as a private security provider must be completed in its entirety and must include:
1.  A completed Form PS-1;
3.  If currently employed, an original, completed Form PS-20 (temporary work permits will not be issued to armed private security professionals or private security instructors); and
4.  A completed Form PS-27

How do I renew my Executive Manager certification?

To renew your Executive Manager certification, submit the following;

  1. A completed Form PS-21;
  2. If currently employed, an original, completed Form PS-20 (temporary work permits will not be issued to armed private security professionals or private security instructors); and
  3. A completed Form PS-27
  4. Nonrefundable certification or licensure fee as prescribed by OAR 259-060-500.
