| General Information |
|
The Stockade Block is the largest block of Common School Fund trust land in Oregon. The 250,000-acre Block is composed of Grant Lands and lands received through exchanges. Located between Burns and Burns Junction on Highway 78. The area lies in both Harney and Malheur Counties. The property is mostly bounded by BLM lands, managed by both the Vale and Burns Districts. Some private ranch lands abut or are also nearby.

| Current Use |
|
Currently the area is managed as rangeland and under lease for grazing to neighboring ranchers. A recent development is the interest to lease about 1800 acres for a future wind energy development. Wind testing is now underway and expected to continue for another year or so.
