State Land Board Meeting Summary - October 10, 2006
Consent Agenda
The State Land Board approved the Consent Agenda, which included
  • approval of the June 13, 2006, meeting minutes;
  • approval of requests to initiate reviews of the sale of five isolated parcels in Union County and a parcel in Clatsop County;
  • approval of a request for authorization to initiate public rulemaking relating to placement of wave energy power generating devices on state-owned submerged and submersible land within the Territorial Sea;
  • approval of a request by the Oregon Department of Transportation to acquire a permanent bridge easement over state-owned submerged and submersible land of the Snake River in Malheur County;
  • approval of a request by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management to acquire a permanent road easement over and upon state-owned trust land in Harney County; and
  • approval of a request to appear before the Legislative emergency Board in November 2006. 
Action Items
  • The board approved a request for authorization to sell a parcel of filled land in Columbia County to Teevin Bros. Land and Timber Co.  The Land Board authorized DSL to review this sale at their June 14, 2005, meeting.  The site includes 1.26 acres of state-owned filled land adjoining the upland owned by Teevin Bros., and was created in 1980 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with materials dredged from the Columbia River after the eruption of Mt. St. Helens. 
  • The board approved the following DSL major plans: 
    2006-10 Strategic Plan 
    2006-16 Asset Management Plan and
    2007-09 Sustainability Plan

The board heard the following reports and updates:
  • Escheated Estates Program Annual Report 
  • Common School Fund Forest Land Management for FY 2006 and change in 2007-09 CSF forestland revenue projections
  • South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve fee structure report.
