Jenna Kulluson
OCEI Coordinator
The South Slough's Jenna Kulluson was hired temporarily to work on education outreach activities in the south coast area. "I'm working with local teachers to research and pilot curriculum, construct modules with the north coast coordinator, and facilitate workshops we'll be holding in August," she says. "Working with the South Slough staff, students and teachers….has been such a pleasure as well as a great learning experience." Jenna learned of the South Slough while working as a teaching assistant on an environmental education project at the UO Institute of Marine Biology in Charleston. She ended up liking the staff, visitors and students so much, she found herself spending a lot of her free time volunteering there. Jenna graduated from the UO with a B.S. in marine biology and environmental science in June 2009. While a student, she held many part-time jobs, including working at the university's libraries, as an adviser in the biology department and lifeguarding. When not working, Jenna likes to "stay active" and enjoys "exploring the shores of the south coast with family and friends, as well as a bit of sewing, photography and working out my green thumb."
