Assistant Coordinator/Data Manager
As Assistant Coordinator for the Partnership for Coastal Watersheds (PCW) project, Jenni mainly focuses on implementing Phase II of the project. She is specifically responsible for developing a revised inventory of the Coos Bay Estuary. She is also coordinating the System Wide Monitoring Program expansion into the larger Coos estuary, and coordinating data collection for validating University of Oregon professor, Dave Sutherland’s hydrodynamic model of Coos Bay.
Background and Experience
Jenni completed a Master of Science degree in marine biology in 2002 from the University of Oregon. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Bucknell University, in 1999. Prior to working at the South Slough, Jenni spent over seven years with her now-husband sailing their boat from Oregon, through the Panama Canal, to Maine – exploring both Caribbean and Pacific sides of Central America in the process. During those years, she also worked seasonally with NOAA on Steller sea lions in Alaska, and with ODFW conducting stream surveys in Oregon, as well as various other marine related jobs. Jenni is very excited to be back living on the Oregon coast and especially to be a part of the SSNERR - “it’s a beautiful place to work”.
