Maintenance Foreman
Nate is responsible for maintaining all of the structures, grounds, equipment, vehicles and boats for the South Slough Reserve.  He provides the oversight to design, construct, and maintain all trails, gates, fences, boardwalks and other structures needed to support the research and education programs.  Nate is also responsible for the supervision of work crews and volunteers working at the Reserve, as well as inspecting the grounds for fire, general safety, accessibility and security. 

Background and Experience
Nate's work experience includes setting chokers as a logger in the Pacific Northwest, and work on the Boeing 747 in Kent, Washington.  Nate was drafted into the United States Army in 1969; he joined the Army later and retired from the Army in 1998.  Nate earned Associates degrees in Applied Welding and Forestry in 1994.
