Chief Technologist
Tom Elledge is responsible for all aspects of information technology for the South Slough Reserve and he is the project lead for the establishment and implementation of the high performance wireless infrastructure at the Reserve.  This project will enable high speed internet connectivity at the South Slough NERR Interpretive Center as well as establish wireless telecommunications capabilities which will enable voice and data transfer from field locations throughout the Reserve.

Background and Experience
Tom worked for the U.S. Forest Service for five years and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management for 21 years.  "I was a senior technical specialist in Information Technology with the BLM and along with three other individuals had responsibility for the managment of the entire BLM Information Technology infrastructure."  Tom also worked in a research environment for several years as a member of the National Soil-Range Team which was located at the University of Nevada at Reno. 
 
Tom earned a bachelor's of science degree in Natural Resource Managment and took several graduate level classes in snow hydrology while at the University of Nevada.  "I also have numerous credits towards a degree in Information Technology and have attended the National Defense University in Washington, DC where I was enrolled in their Chief Information Officer certification program."
