Rule Caption: Amending criminal records check and fitness determination rules.

The Oregon Department of Energy (ODOE) filed permanent rules for criminal records checks and fitness determinations on May 8, 2017. The permanent rules amend and repeal ODOE’s criminal records check and fitness determination rules to comply with and remove duplicative language found in uniform rules adopted by the Department of Administrative Services (OAR 125-007) and to document ODOE procedure.

The Oregon Department of Energy will hold a public hearing to receive comments on draft rules amending ODOE’s criminal records check and fitness determination rules.

Public Hearing Materials:

ODOE proposes amendments to the Criminal Records Check and Fitness Determination rules to comply with and remove duplicative language found in uniform rules adopted by the Oregon Department of Administrative Services (OAR 125-007) and to document ODOE procedure. 

ODOE will accept oral testimony on the rules at the public hearing. Participants unable to attend may call in to provide oral comments.

Written comments on the rulemaking are due by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017, and sent via email to: elizabeth.ross@oregon.gov​.  

The public hearing will be the final opportunity for comment before ODOE files permanent rules in May. ODOE plans for the rules to be effective upon filing.
