The Oregon Department of Energy (ODOE) will hold the first meeting of the Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Technology (EEAST) program Rulemaking Advisory Committee on Monday, August 23 at 1:30 p.m. in Salem. The meeting is open to the public.
The Advisory Committee and interested parties will provide input and suggestions for ODOE to use in the development of permanent administrative rules related to the EEAST program.
EEAST offers financing for residential and commercial energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. The program provides 100% upfront long term, low-interest loans to property owners, which can be paid back on the utility bill and transferred to a subsequent owner.
The 2009 Legislature created the EEAST Act through HB 2626 as part of the State Energy Loan Program (SELP). It was amended by the 2010 Legislature through HB 3675.
The EEAST Advisory Committee meeting starts at 1:30 p.m. in the Labor and Industries Building, Conference Room B, 350 Winter Street NE in Salem.
More information on EEAST is available on the ODOE website at http://www.oregon.gov/ENERGY/LOANS/EEAST/index.shtml.
