The Oregon Energy Planning Council (Council) will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 1 from 1 to 5 p.m. in Salem to continue its work looking at the State’s future energy needs and analyzing the issues involved in meeting those needs.
The Council was tasked with creating an energy plan that outlines a wide array of issues to help the State establish a more sustainable, and less fossil fuel-dependent, energy future.
The agenda includes review and discussion of a draft Energy Plan Report scheduled for submission to the Governor in December. This report is the first installment of Oregon’s emerging energy plan. The full agenda is available at www.oregon.gov/ENERGY/RENEW/OEPC/OEPC_Meetings.shtml
The meeting is open to the public and will be held at the Local Government Center, 1201 Court Street NE in Salem.
Governor Kulongoski appointed the 11-member Council. The Council chair is Ron Adams, Dean of the Oregon State University College of Engineering. There are 10 other voting members and 12 ex-officio (non-voting) members. The complete members list can be found at www.oregon.gov/ENERGY/RENEW/OEPC/OEPC_Members.shtml
