SALEM — The Oregon Geothermal Working Group will meet September 15 in Klamath Falls. The public meeting is from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the College Union Building on the campus of Oregon Institute of Technology.
The working group, lead by the Oregon Department of Energy, promotes the use of Oregon's geothermal resources for power generation and direct use. The OGWG was formed in November 2004 and includes representatives of utilities, government agencies, environmental groups, farming and rural interests, and geothermal industry developers.
The meeting agenda includes discussions on projects at the Oregon Institute of Technology, the City of Klamath Falls and a local nursery. For a complete agenda, please go to: http://www.oregon.gov/ENERGY/RENEW/Geothermal/OGWG-Meetings.shtml
Geothermal energy is a base load energy resource from heat in the earth, meaning that it has the ability to continuously produce energy around the clock.
