SALEM — The Oregon Department of Energy will hold a public hearing Thursday, April 5 on the proposed Carty Generating Station, 13 miles southwest of Boardman. The meeting takes place from 6-8 p.m. at the Port of Morrow’s Well Springs Conference Room (2 Marine Dr.) in Boardman.
The proposed combined-cycle generating plant, fueled by natural gas, could produce up to 900 megawatts of electrical power.
The purpose of the hearing is to receive comments – at the hearing or in writing – on a Draft Proposed Order that was issued yesterday by the Oregon Department of Energy. The order contains recommended findings on the project’s compliance with Oregon’s Energy Facility Siting Council’s siting standards.

The comment period on the Draft Proposed Order closes on April 13 at 5 p.m. For those who cannot attend the April 5 meeting but would like to submit comments on the Order, they can be e-mailed, mailed or faxed to:
