SALEM — The second meeting of the Energy Incentives Program’s Transit Services Advisory Committee will take place April 13 in Salem. The public meeting will be held from 9 a.m.-noon at Salem-Keizer Transit (925 Commercial St. SE).
The committee was set up to assist the Oregon Department of Energy in the permanent rulemaking process for transit services tax credits that are part of the new Energy Incentives Program. The EIP replaced the Business Energy Tax Credit program.
The Transit Services Advisory Committee consists of business and industry representatives, community leaders and interest groups. At the meeting, the committee will be discussing issues such as eligibility criteria, fee requirements and a proposed process for how the tax credits will be allocated among applicants.
An agenda for the meeting, as well as information from the first meeting, can be found on the ODOE website at: www.oregon.gov/ENERGY/CONS/Rulemaking2011-HB3672.shtml
A public hearing on permanent rules is scheduled for May 23, 2012.
The EIP was created in House Bill 3672 (2011) and the legislation was subsequently updated in House Bill 4079 (2012).
To request an interpreter for the hearing-impaired or for other accommodations, please contact Rosa Carbaugh at 503-934-4010 or via fax at 503-934-4006. TTY users should call the Oregon Relay Service at 711.
