SALEM—The Oregon Department of Energy (ODOE) will be holding advisory committee meetings for two of its Energy Incentive Programs (EIP): Alternative Fuel Vehicle Infrastructure (AFVI) tax incentive program and Renewable Energy Development Grants. Both EIP advisory committees will meet at ODOE, 625 Marion Street NE in Salem, and are scheduled as follows:
Tax Credits
Alternative Fuel Vehicle Infrastructure (AFVI)
Tuesday, April 17
8:30 am – 11 am
Development Grants
Renewable Energy
Thursday, April 19
9:00 am – 11:30 am
Meetings for both the AFVI Tax Credit and Renewable Energy Development Grants will review program rules, relating to eligibility criteria, fee requirements and a process for how incentives will be allocated among applicants. The AFVI tax credit committee will also review pass-through and compliance, preliminary and final certifications.
EIP Advisory Committees consist of business and industry representatives, community leaders, and interest groups. ODOE organized the committees to help with its permanent rulemaking process for incentive programs. The EIP, created in 2011 by HB3672, replaces the Business Energy Tax Credit, primarily known as BETC.
Agendas for these meetings can be found on the ODOE website at: http://oregon.gov/ENERGY/CONS/Rulemaking2011-HB3672.shtml#Current_Rulemaking
To request an interpreter for the hearing-impaired or for other accommodations, please contact Rosa Carbaugh at 503-934-4010 or via fax at 503-934-4006. TTY users should call the Oregon Relay Service at 711.
Public hearings on the final permanent rules are tentatively scheduled for June 2012.
ODOE recently posted an AFVI Opportunity Announcement, requesting applications for energy incentives (tax credits), targeting alternative fuel vehicle infrastructure projects that include electric vehicle charging stations and compressed natural gas fueling stations. Approximately $2 million in tax credits will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis through June 29, 2012.
