Biglow Canyon Wind Farm

Facility: Biglow is a wind energy facility consisting of 217 wind turbines, with a peak generating capacity of 450 megawatts.

Status (Operating): Operations began on Aug. 29, 2010. To review the ongoing wildlife monitoring reports, please see the table at the bottom of the page.

Location: Sherman County, approximately 2.5 miles northeast of Wasco

Ongoing Wildlife Monitoring Reports: The Wildlife Monitoring and Mitigation Plan, approved May 10, 2007, requires the certificate holder to report to the department results of a two-year fatality monitoring program, ongoing raptor nest surveys, avian use and behavior surveys, ongoing wildlife fatality and incidental monitoring, and results of additional mitigation if determined necessary. These results and associated reports will be posted to the department’s website within 30-days of receipt and made available for public comment. Please submit comments to the department’s compliance officer via email to duane.kilsdonk@state.or.us by the date indicated below:
