South Mist Pipeline Extension

Facility: South Mist is a 62 mile, 24-inch natural gas pipeline. The pipeline connects the Mist Underground Gas Storage Facility with the interstate pipeline system and accommodates growth in demand for natural gas in the western Portland suburbs.

Status: Operating

Location: Washington, Marion and Clackamas counties. The northern terminus is the Bacona Blowdown Station, located in forestland north of Dairy Creek. It extends south and east to the Williams Pipeline Gate Station northwest of Molalla.

Site certificate amendment #4: Authorized additional supporting equipment, eliminated the need for horizontal inclinometers in the Sherman Mill Side Area and added temporary staging and lay-down areas related to the added equipment.

Site certificate amendment #1: Allowed for temporary construction access and lay-down areas; made changes to temporary and permanent easements on land outside the 200 foot corridor, made changes related to topsoil storage and segregation, relaxed the requirement to maintain segregation between the pipeline and underground structures to the federal requirement.
