Governor Kitzhaber appoints Robert Nichols to the Lake County Circuit Court

(Berlin, Germany) — Governor Kitzhaber today announced the appointment of Robert F. Nichols, Jr. to fill the vacancy on the Lake County Circuit Court created by the retirement of Judge Lane W. Simpson.
“Mr. Nichols brings extremely diverse practice experience to the Lake County Circuit Court including experience with civil litigation, domestic relations, business law and both criminal prosecution and defense, making for a smooth transition for the circuit court,” said Governor Kitzhaber. “More importantly, Mr. Nichols brings a longstanding commitment to the community and the people of Lake County.”
Currently a shareholder in the general law practice of Bogardus & Nichols, P.C., Mr. Nichols has been practicing law in Lake County for 34 years. This includes serving eight years as the Lake County District Attorney and as the Lake County Counsel, as well as representing the Lake County School District #7 and the Town of Paisley.  A Lakeview High School graduate, Mr. Nichols received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Oregon State University and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Willamette University College of Law.
Mr. Nichols has been an active member of the community including serving on the Lake County Chamber of Commerce and as a 20-year member of the Warner Canyon Ski Patrol.
