Governor Kitzhaber commends Senate for Passage of Full-Day Kindergarten, looks forward to enacting legislation

Governor Kitzhaber offered the following statement on the Senate passage of legislation requiring schools to offer free full-day kindergarten:

“Ensuring that Oregon students receive high quality education is a top priority. This legislation is consistent with my zero to twenty education plan. Investment in early success is the key element to achieving Oregon’s long-term education and economic objectives.”

“I applaud the Senate for making early childhood education a priority.”
