Governor Kitzhaber Orders flags at half-staff in Lane County in Memory of Eugene Police Officer Chris Kilcullen

Flags to be flown at half-staff in Lane County through the evening of memorial service for Eugene Police Officer Chris Kilcullen; additionally flags to be lowered statewide on Friday, April 29, 2011 in honor of Officer Kilcullen.

(SALEM, Ore.) — Governor Kitzhaber today ordered all flags at public institutions throughout Lane County to be flown at half-staff in honor of Eugene Police Officer Chris Kilcullen who was killed Friday, April 22, 2011. 

Flags are to be flown at half-staff in Lane County through the evening of Officer Kilcullen’s memorial service on Friday, April 29, 2011.  Additionally, Governor Kitzhaber ordered flags lowered statewide on Friday, April 29, 2011.

“Officer Kilcullen served the Eugene Police Department honorably for twelve years, earning more than 85 commendations and putting the safety of his community and our state first”,” said Governor Kitzhaber. “My thoughts are with Officer Kilcullen’s wife, children, friends and family.”
