Governor applauds Senate passage of SB 290
 
(SALEM, Ore.) —  Governor Kitzhaber statement following Senate passage of SB 290, which will expand teacher performance standards:

“The Senate took a significant step forward today in creating a more accountable and innovative education system in Oregon,” said Governor Kitzhaber.  “Senate Bill 290’s focus on professional development and uniform standards for educators and administrators can help achieve our goals of delivering better results for students, more resources for teachers and a better return for taxpayers. I look forward to seeing progress on other education improvement bills including Senate Bill 909.”
