Governor Kitzhaber names Cassandra SkinnerLopata as Chair of the Oregon Liquor Control Commission
(SALEM, Ore.) — Governor Kitzhaber today appointed Cassandra SkinnerLopata,to be Chair of the Oregon Liquor Control Commission. She has served on the commission since June 2009. Ms. SkinnerLopata is General Counsel for Agate HealthCare, serves on the Board of Directors for Head Start of Lane County and is a member of the Oregon State Bar’s Quality of Life Committee.
“I am pleased to appoint Ms. SkinnerLopata as Chair of OLCC,” said Governor Kitzhaber. “She brings leadership and a new approach to this important Commission. I know that she will lead OLCC with integrity, transparency, and accountability.”
Ms. SkinnerLopata is involved in a broad range of community service, including volunteering for the Attorney General’s Sexual Assault Task Force, Lane County Legal Aid, and several programs with the Oregon State Bar and the University of Oregon School of Law, of which she is a graduate. She has previously held positions on the Governor’s Council on Domestic Violence, the Lane County Human Rights Advisory Committee, and the Board of Directors for Breaking Free, a non-profit organization promoting empowerment and self-defense for women and girls.
