Governor Kitzhaber appoints Dan Primus as Umatilla County District Attorney

(SALEM, Ore.) —  Governor Kitzhaber today announced the appointment of Daniel R. Primus as the Umatilla County District Attorney to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Dean Gushwa.
“Dan Primus has the leadership qualities and demonstrated commitment to the community that will serve the people of Umatilla County well,” said Governor Kitzhaber.  “I am confident that his integrity and dedication will help move Umatilla County forward.” 
Mr. Primus received a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Oregon University and received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Willamette University School of Law.  After law school, Mr. Primus opened his own solo practice in Salem emphasizing civil and criminal law before being hired as a deputy district attorney in the Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office where he worked his way up to prosecuting major felonies.  Mr. Primus is actively involved in the community with Pendleton Little League and Youth Football, as well as with the Boy Scouts and his church.
