Governor Kitzhaber orders flags at half-staff in remembrance of September 11, 2001 

President Obama today approved the Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance proclamation for Sunday, September 11, 2011

(Salem) – Today Governor Kitzhaber ordered all flags at public institutions throughout Oregon be flown at half-staff on Sunday, September 11, 2011, in remembrance of the events of September 11, 2001.
“In lowering our flags, we pay tribute to those who lost their lives 10 years ago and honor the brave men and women who continue to serve and protect our nation today,” Governor Kitzhaber said. “We will continue to face challenges as a state and as a nation, but today we are reminded of the shared values that continue to give us strength, resolve, and determination.”
