Health care savings one step closer

Governor Kitzhaber applauds Ways and Means action on SB 1580

(Salem, OR) — Governor Kitzhaber released the following statement after the Joint Ways and Means Committee passed Senate Bill 1580, a key tool to transform Oregon’s health care system. The bill will now be considered by the full Senate.
“The Legislature’s action today is key to ensuring that Oregonians get better health care at a lower cost. The potential cost savings to the state are substantial – more than $3 billion in the next five years – and I urge the full Senate and House to act quickly on this critical public priority.”
