What is OEIT?
The Governor created the Oregon Education Investment Team (OEIT) by executive order on February 22, 2011, and directed the OEIT to engage the public, legislators and stakeholders in the creation of a new investment and budget process for education in Oregon. Key to this effort was passage of Senate Bill 909, which creates the Oregon Education Investment Board (OEIB).
The team's 13 members will make recommendations in a report to the Governor. Read OEIT's July 2011 Progress Report.
OEIT meetings are open to the public.
What are the goals?
The goals driving this effort are that ultimately 100 percent of Oregonians will earn a high school diploma or its equivalent, 40 percent will earn a post-secondary credential, and 40 percent will obtain a bachelor's degree or higher by the year 2025.
What is the process?
The OEIT has lead and coordinated a process of collecting, reviewing and evaluating the efforts of groups that have studied ways Oregon can most effectively reach its goals through transformation in key areas:
-
Early Learning
-
Education Budget
-
Increasing K-12 Efficiencies

| Increasing K-12 Efficiencies |
|
In a statewide survey conducted in April 2011, the Governor's Office gathered input on best practices in increasing efficiency in K-12 education. The purpose of the survey is to recognize and share the many innovations currently being developed and will be used to inform the Governor on ways the state can better support districts and schools in implementing efficiencies.
