Oregon Workforce Investment Board
State Plan, Bylaws, and Policies

State Plan
It is required under federal and state law that Oregon has a plan that outlines a five-year strategy for its workforce system. For the complete text of the state plan, please see State Five Year Plan Title I.
Oregon submitted a request to the U.S. Department of Labor for modification of the state plan. The primary purpose of the plan modification is to identify new designated local workforce investment areas. Also included in the modification are minor updates to administrative sections (e.g., state agency/staff contact information, etc.). To view the complete draft plan modification, please see Oregon State Plan Modification #1 for PY 2014.
Over the past several months, the Governor's Office, Oregon Workforce Investment Board, Local Elected Officials, Local Workforce Investment Board Directos, and state agency staff have been working together to better position the local boards to meet their expanded role and align with local economic development strategies. After considerable discussion and thorough review of the local proposals and related criteria, the Oregon Workforce Investment Board is recommending to the Governor that the following groups of counties by desginted as distinct local workforce areas:
By clicking on each county, you will find the resolutions passed by the Local Elected Officials. This is the indication of local county agreement with the new area boundaries.
