Veteran Student Resources

Veteran students who wish to be assured that the college options they are considering are approved for veteran benefits can rely on the work of the Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC). The HECC is the State Approving Agency (SAA) for Veterans Education Programs, and is responsible for granting the necessary approval needed for the Department of Veteran Affairs to pay veterans and other eligible persons their G.I Bill education benefits.

Programs Eligible for Veteran Benefits

The State Approving Agency (SAA) approves and supervises postsecondary institutions that are legally operating in Oregon, including public and private colleges, universities, community colleges, high schools, flight schools, private career schools, and apprentice and on-the-job training programs.
