Wilsonville, OR—The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has issued a $10,400 civil penalty to the Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District for violating the conditions of their stormwater permit at their facility located at 9499 SW Barbur St., Wilsonville, OR. TriMet failed to monitor its industrial stormwater discharges at the required frequency during the 2015-2016 monitoring year.

DEQ issued this penalty because monitoring stormwater discharges at the proper frequency is essential for DEQ to be able to evaluate the effectiveness of the control measures. Without properly collected monitoring data, DEQ cannot analyze potential harmful environmental consequences from TriMet's stormwater discharge.
