Portland, OR—Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, US Coast Guard and US Environmental Protection Agency today continued cleanup of an oil release reported yesterday at the Union Pacific Railroad Albina Yard on River Street in north Portland.

US Coast Guard is serving as the federal on-scene coordinator. DEQ and partners have responded to the incident, have contained the spill with boom, and are cleaning up oil and sheen.

DEQ, EPA and USCG are working with Union Pacific to determine the amount and type of oil spilled.

Cleanup efforts are ongoing.
