    The mission of the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging is to promote, preserve and protect the public health, safety and welfare of Oregonians who are undergoing medical imaging studies performed by agency licensees for the purpose of medical diagnosis and therapy.

    All qualified Medical Imaging Technologists or Limited Permit Operators that wish to work in Oregon are required by state law to have a valid license issued by the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging before they take any images. ORS 688.455

On 1-1-2017 You Will Need (CT) Credential To Do Computed Tomography.


OBMI Approves Waiver To CT Rule


The Board recently approved a temporary rule to allow for waiver of the credential requirement for CT, if the applicant meets specific requirements and works in at a rural hospital.  This temporary rule can be utilized now, for grandfathered radiographers who do not have the required basic ARRT credential, or after January 1st, 2017 to waive the new requirement to have a CT subspecialty credential.
