Private Schools Registration
Non-public education is recognized as a vital part of Oregon’s educational system. Parents have the option of providing their child’s education through Private or Home School. Private schools do not have to register with the State of Oregon, unless they are contracting with public school district for services. Although private pre-12 schools no longer register, the process for Child Care Licensing
remains in effect.
The Oregon School Directory lists phone numbers, addresses, and key staff people in all public district and schools in the state. Schools may update their information throughout the school year but most institution updates take place July 1 at the end of the fiscal year.
