December Special Education Child Count Media Files

School Districts are required to report the count of Students ages 5-21 that have an Oregon Eligibility for Special Education, a current Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Service Plan, and are receiving services on December 1.

Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education (EI/ECSE) programs are required to report the count of Students ages birth - 4 that have an Oregon Eligibility for Special Education, a current Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) or Service Plan, and are receiving services on December 1.

These counts are used for reporting to the U.S. Department of Education, determining the number of eligible students who generate state school funds, and providing statistical data. To make this data more readily available, the Special Education Data Unit has made available the following media files for use:

  • Count of Regionally and District Served Special Education Students by Gender and School District
  • Count of Regionally and District Served Special Education Students by Primary Disability and School District
  • Count of Regionally and District Served Special Education Students by Educational Environment and School District
  • Count of Regionally and District Served Special Education Students by Race/Ethnicity and School District

Data Notes

The data source for all files will be the December Special Education Child Count for the school year selected.

To conform with the Department of Education’s confidentiality policy, cell sizes of less than 6 have been suppressed. In some cases, larger cells sizes may require suppression to protect confidentiality.
