Information For Districts ESDs and EIECSE Programs

This program assists rural Districts, Educational School Districts (ESD) and Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education Programs (EI/ECSE) acquire qualified Speech-Language Pathologists.

The ODE SLP Scholarship Program supports two types of Speech-Language Pathology Participants:

  • Nova Southeastern (online/hybrid) Speech-Language Pathology Master’s Degree Students: These students attend online classes for three years while maintaining residency and employment in Oregon. Districts/ESDs or EI/ECSEs can employ these students as Speech-Language Pathology Assistants and the ODE SLP Scholarship Program will provide a $400 stipend annually to the District to offset the cost of supervising them. Upon graduation, the students commit to two years of service in exchange for a one time $10,000 scholarship from ODE. Scholarships are paid to the District through a sub grant. Should the student not complete the two years service requirement, they are required to pay the money back to the District and the District then repays the monies to ODE. Participant and Supervisor are required to fill out a survey annually.
  • University Partnerships: These participants come to the District/ESD or EI/ECSE Program for their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY). They have recently graduated from an Oregon University. These participants complete two years of service in the District in exchange for a one time $10,000 scholarship from ODE. The District also receives a $400 stipend to offset the cost of CFY supervision. Participant and Supervisor are required to fill out a survey annually.

Please let us know if you are need of a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist! We want to help.
