Through direction from the Board Subcommittee on Alternative Forest Management Plans, in October 2013, Meridian Institute began facilitating a multi-stakeholder assessment of alternative forest management approaches for Oregon's State Forests. The Stakeholder Group, which is comprised of timber, environmental, and county government interests, is charged with developing an overall approach and/or set of specific alternative options for management of those lands, taking into account the full range of economic, environmental, and social benefits and costs, and the tradeoffs among them.
