Oregon Department of Forestry Sets Special Forest Products Rulemaking Public Meetings and Comment Opportunity

Landowners and the public may comment on the draft rule defining special forest products to help develop the final rule.  The Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) will hold two public information meetings and two public hearings. 
 
Meeting Information (All meetings will begin at 6:00 p.m.):
 
February 13, ODF Office - Forest Grove, 801 Gales Creek Road
February 18, ODF Office - Salem, 2600 State Street
March 4, ODF Office - Springfield, 3150 Main Street
March 18, ODF Office - Salem, 2600 State Street
 
The first two meetings will focus on providing background, statutory requirements, and what governs special forest products harvest and transporting them.  The last two meetings will be public hearings, to receive public input about the draft rules.  The public will have an opportunity to comment on the special forest products administrative rule definition.  The revised rule will become effective July 1, 2014.   Forms landowners may use to grant permission to harvest special forest products will be available at the meetings.
