The North Cascade District protects private, Bureau of Land Management, and industrial lands in Multnomah, Clackamas, Marion, and northern Linn Counties.
Fire Season is defined as "the season when a fire hazard exists as declared by the Oregon Department of Forestry". In the North Casade District, Fire Season usually begins in late June or early July and usually ends in mid to late October, depending on the severity of the weather.
Approximately 20 seasonal firefighters staff eight wildland engines on the district, and are tracked by a Forest Communications Dispatcher. District personnel work closely with partners such as the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Forest Service, and rural fire districts to combine fire suppression efforts, as well as engaging in joint training opportunities.
