Tom Imeson, of Portland, is vice president of public affairs at NW Natural. He has extensive experience in state and federal government, with a focus on natural resources and energy. He worked for 15 years on U.S. Sen. Mark Hatfield’s personal staff and the staffs of the Senate’s Energy and Natural Resources and Appropriations committees. He has served on a number of civic and state boards, including the Land Conservation and Development Commission and the Board of Higher Education. Imeson has a background in forest policy issues at the state and federal levels. He holds a bachelor’s degree in social sciences from Johns Hopkins University.

Sybil Ackerman-Munson

Sybil Ackerman-Munson, of Damascus, Sybil Ackerman-Munson has her own small business as an advisor for philanthropic institutions and individuals interested in effective grant making. She currently serves as a consultant for the Resources Legacy Fund, Burning Foundation, Gray Family Foundation, and Jubitz Family Foundation. Sybil is also the Executive Director of the Lazar Foundation. Sybil was previously employed by many prestigious environmental organizations and has served on numerous boards and negotiating teams to solve solutions to complex policy challenges. In addition to serving as a member of the Oregon Board of Forestry, she has served on the Environmental Justice Task Force, the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board, the Nearshore Ocean Task Force, the Governor’s Panel on Oregon and California Lands, the Steens Mountain negotiating team, the Habitat Conservation Plan Public Interest Committee, and the State Forest Management Plan revision subcommittee. She holds a bachelor's degree in environmental studies from Scripps College, a master's in environmental management from Yale, and a degree in environmental law from Lewis and Clark Law School.

Cindy Deacon Williams

Cindy Deacon Williams
Cindy Deacon Williams, of Medford, is a consulting fisheries biologist, with 30 years of service in state and federal government and in the non-profit world. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Oregon State University and a master’s degree from California State University in Sacramento, both in biological sciences. Williams has worked in the California Legislature as chief of staff to Assemblyman Robert J. Campbell; and for the USDA Forest Service as Assistant Fisheries Program Leader and co-leader of the Interior Columbia Basin EIS Team. She has served as Director of Aquatic Science and Conservation Education Programs for the National Center for Conservation Science and Policy. She currently works in private practice as a natural resources consultant for the firm, Environmental Consultants.

Nils Christoffersen
 
Nils Christoffersen 
Nils D. Christoffersen, of Enterprise, currently serves as Executive Director of the non-profit, Wallowa Resources, based in Enterprise. He holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in economics from Williams College in Massachusetts, and a master’s degree in forestry and land use from Oxford University in Oxford, England. Christoffersen has been with Wallowa Resources since 1999, becoming executive director in 2007. Before coming to northeastern Oregon, he worked as Executive Director of Africa Resources Trust USA in Washington, DC; as Regional Program Coordinator in Southern Africa for the World Conservation Union; and as International Program Officer for the Agricultural University of Norway. He has served on and chaired the Governor’s Eastside Forest Advisory Panel and the National Commission on Science for Sustainable Forestry, and currently chairs the Enterprise School Board.​

Tom Insko

Tom Insko
Tom Insko, of La Grande, is president of Eastern Oregon University. Prior to accepting that position in July 2015, he was Region Manager for Boise Cascade’s Inland region, which includes eight manufacturing facilities and approximately 925 employees. With Boise Cascade, the majority of his responsibilities focused on operations management. Prior positions with Boise included analyst, plant superintendent, production manager and senior financing manager. He grew up on the family farm north of La Grande. A graduate of Eastern Oregon University, where he received degrees in mathematics and business economics, Tom later served on EOU’s Foundation. He also holds a master’s of business administration from the College of William and Mary in Virginia.

Gary Springer

Gary Springer
Gary Springer, of Corvallis, is a staff forester with Starker Forests, Inc., of Corvallis, and also handles policy and public outreach duties for the family-owned company. In addition, he owns and manages the 80-acre Chinquapin Point Tree Farm in Harlan. From the 1970s through the 1990s, he was a partner in his family’s contract logging business. Springer has served on several forestry-related boards and committees, including the Forest Practices Advisory Committee and the Committee for Family Forestlands. He currently is on the Oregon Small Woodlands Association and Oregon Society of American Foresters executive committees, as well as research advisory committees at the Oregon State University College of Forestry. He left his position as a member of the Oregon Forest Resources Institute board upon appointment to the Board of Forestry. Springer holds a bachelor’s degree in general humanities from OSU.

Mike Rose

Mike Rose
 
 
Michael Rose, of Elkton, has represented forest industry workers for 36 years, through the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers/Woodworkers District Lodge in Gladstone, and the International Woodworkers of America Local Lodge in Reedsport. A logger with International Paper Company’s Gardiner facility, he has worked in the forest products industry for 20 years. His career has centered on maintaining productive forests to bolster the local economy while at the same time sustaining crucial ecological values.
