All of the fish presence and stream size data is current as of: July 2014. The data will be zipped for distribution on a quarterly basis, with updated data available on March 1, June 1, Sept. 1, and Dec 1.
ODF is constantly updating the stream data, and consequently, it is out of date once it is posted to the web.  There are a number of date fields in the tabular data.  The most important to the user is the date of the verification survey "veridate".  The date that the information is digitized is "fpeditdate" for fish presence or "szeditdata" for stream size.
NOTE: Oregon Department of Forestry water classification data shows stream size and fish use.  Prior to October 1, 2007, OAR 629-635-0200 directed the department to use an interim process to determine fish use for streams with "unknown" fish use, i.e. those that had not been surveyed with electroshocking equipment or other reliable methods.  Starting October 1, 2007, OAR 629-635-0200(13) directed the department to use physical habitat criteria, e.g., stream gradient, presence of pools, or drainage basin size, to determine fish use for all streams that had previously been considered to have unknown fish use.  Electroshocking surveys or other methods may still be used to determine fish use on a spot basis.  Since October 2007, the department has been updating its water classification data based on the revised direction in rule.  There may still be some streams that do not yet have fish use designations.  Landowners and operators should always contact the local Oregon Department of Forestry field office for fish use determinations before operating near streams.
