The Oregon Board of Forestry will meet by conference call on Oct. 15 to consider a request for reconsideration or rehearing regarding an appeal of a civil penalty issued to a Scio couple for failure to replant trees following timber harvest on their land near Lyons.
On June 4, the Board adopted a final order that found the landowner liable for a civil penalty in the matter of a violation of the provision of the Oregon Forest Practices Act that requires a landowner to reforest the land after cutting timber. The landowner submitted the request for reconsideration or rehearing.
The conference call meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. and is open to the public. A speakerphone will be available in the Clatsop Room, Building C, Oregon Department of Forestry headquarters, 2600 State St., in Salem.
Accommodations for people with disabilities, and special materials, services or assistance can be arranged by calling the Oregon Department of Forestry Agency Affairs Office at least 48 hours before the meeting - 503-945-7200, text telephone 503-945-7213 (in Salem).
