Early detection efforts of the Sudden Oak Death pathogen Phytophthora ramorum along the southern coast of Oregon have been underway since 2001.  Early detection is a combination of aerial survey, follow-up ground visits as well as monitoring the presence of the pathogen in streams.  These efforts are critical to ongoing attempts to eradicate the pathogen from Oregon.
