Forest Tours
Tour group in Clatsop State Forest
The most direct way to understand and experience the complexity of managing state forests is to see first-hand how ODF manages our public forests to meet social, environmental and economic benefit goals.
With advance notice and planning time, ODF staff in the nine districts that manage forestlands can show a small group around and point out features such as areas designated for management, areas set aside to provide conservation values and environmental benefits, and those special areas of the forest that Oregonians treasure.
Contact the local district you are interested in learning about to arrange a tour.
We also partner with the Oregon Forest Resources Institute to help get Oregonians into the forest.

The Oregon Department of Forestry offers wonderful ways to find yourself in the forest at the Tillamook Forest Center on Highway 6.
The Tillamook Forest Center offers public hikes on weekends, and our educational specialists are available to arrange planned hikes for school classes and other groups.
Contact the Tillamook Forest Center staff or the ODF Public Affairs Office for additional information.
