Bicycling through the Tillamook State Forest

Visitors to State Forests can enjoy hiking, camping, fishing, hunting and picnicking. And there are trails for horseback riding, mountain biking and off-highway motorized vehicles. Check the map for recreation opportunities near you.
The following State Forests have recreation information:
Tillamook State Forest
Clatsop State Forest
Santiam State Forest
Recreational activities in state forests are increasingly valued. To meet these needs, the Oregon Department of Forestry has developed long-range recreation plans for the following three state forests.
Stand-alone recreation plans have been developed for the Santiam and Tillamook State Forests; the Clatsop State Forest incorporated a recreation plan into the 2011 Implementation Plan for the forest.

In 2007, ODF commissioned David Reed & Associates (DRA) to conduct a second-party assessment of the State Forest recreation program patterned after the Forest Management Plan assessment conducted by Strategic Resource Systems in 2006. ODF staff requested this second-party assessment to independently evaluate current effectiveness and implementation of the  Northwest Oregon recreation management plans, with the goal of continued improvement and enhancement of the recreation program.
