The Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) is launching a project to evaluate the Department’s research and monitoring plans for state-owned forests in western Oregon, including the Clatsop, Tillamook, Santiam and Elliott State Forests. The Western Oregon State Forests Monitoring Plan project is a collaborative effort with stakeholders to evaluate the Department’s current Research and Monitoring plan, and update the plans to meet contemporary management goals for the forest and prioritize the range of values (including social, environmental and economic benefits) that public members identify when looking at the future of Oregon’s state forests. The updated Research and Monitoring plan will address implementation monitoring, effectiveness monitoring and essential research.
