  • Celebrating 100 years of service to Oregon

    boonesferry.gifThis year, Oregon is celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Oregon Department of Transportation, which began life as the “Oregon Highway Department” in 1913. Ferries, like the Boones Ferry pictured to the left, were a common way to traverse rivers up until the 1950s. Today, there are only a handful of ferries operating in Oregon. Read more about impressive eras of transportation progress; innovators, their creations, and the Oregonians who supported them; and noteworthy achievements that have helped shape Oregon’s highly valued way of life.

    ODOT online Project Tracking Map
    The Oregon Department of Transportation's new online Project Tracking Map allows you to track where state transportation funds are spent. The map lists basic information about most, but not all, state-managed transportation projects. Drop down menus allow you to filter the map by geographical area, legislative and congressional districts and other boundaries. Future enhancements will include more types of projects.
